Membership Details
Requirements
APAEA Membership is open all permanent, temporary, and retired Forest Service employees who are committed to supporting the Mission and Objectives, regardless of their ethnicity, race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, or familial status.
Forest Service employees may join APAEA at any time by contacting the Chair or Executive Committee.
Members shall comply with all legal requirements and policies imposed on USDA-recognized employee associations.
Rights
All Members shall have voting privileges on applicable APAEA activities and decisions.
Members, including the Chair and Executive Committee, may serve as resources to Forest Service leadership on issues regarding Asian/Pacific Islander employees and public, however, APAEA or its Members do not comprehensively represent the broad array of perspectives among all Asian/Pacific Islanders.
APAEA Members shall be referred to as “Members” in the Constitution and Bylaws.
The APAEA Working Group
The APAEA Working Group is a voluntary group that was initiated in 2014 and consists of members who are interested in helping out with APAEA-specific projects. If you would like to join the Working Group, please email APAEA. Current projects are listed under the heading Projects.
We are looking for people with different skill sets, including but not limited to:
writing/editing
web design
event coordination
and new ideas
Monthly conference calls on the third Tuesday of each month where Working Group members share ideas on what they are interested in working on. We work around your schedules and always need help from passionate individuals.
